Here at Ava, we take data—especially fertility and pregnancy data—very seriously. Our team is led by premier data scientists, obstetricians, gynecologists, and reproductive endocrinologists, many of whom hold PhDs and decades of experience in their respective fields. So, when you read content on AvaWorld, you can trust that it’s backed by science and has been thoroughly researched and vetted by our experts.
The Ava bracelet is now reimbursed by thousands of companies. If your employer offers fertility benefits, the Ava bracelet may be covered.
You can also get reimbursed for the cost of your Ava bracelet with your HSA or an FSA. Here’s everything you need to know:
Eligible plan members can purchase Ava directly from our website using an HSA or FSA debit/credit card, or pay with a regular credit card and submit the receipt for reimbursement.
A health savings account (HSA) is a tax-advantaged medical savings account available to taxpayers in the United States who are enrolled in a high-deductible health plan. The funds contributed to the account are not subject to federal income tax at the time of deposit.
A flexible spending account (FSA) is similar, but with an HSA funds roll over and accumulate year to year if they are not spent. With an FSA, this is not the case.
In some cases, you deposit pre-tax income into your HSA or FSA. In this case, anything you purchase through your HSA/FSA will be effectively at a discount, because you are using pre-tax income. In other cases, your employer may contribute funds into your HSA or FSA account.
In many cases, HSA/FSA plans cover fertility monitors. You will need to check the details of your individual plan to see what is covered.
Different HSA/FSA plans have different requirements about what kind of documentation is needed in order to be eligible for a reimbursement. In most cases, a copy of your order confirmation email will suffice. You can also email [email protected] to request an itemized receipt for your Ava. In rare cases, your HSA/FSA plan may require a doctor’s note.
